Join SAGES (Senior Actors Guild & Education Services) and their talented senior cast as they present this FREE & FUN one-act play about preventing SCAMMERS from targeting you or your loved ones!

Phoney Baloney is a fast-moving collection of true stories about scammers and how they steal from seniors in particular. A diverse group of friends meet regularly at their local community center and swap tales of chaos and peril brought on by simply answering the phone. Enjoy the commentary of our "Greek chorus " observers -- Miss Jessica Filcher and Sergeant Moe Monday as they point out tips to turn the tables on tricksters and outsmart scammers once and for all. In comedy, there must be an element of truth to pack a punch. This show is packed with humor! This group of older adults are targeted by phone scammers as “easy marks.” They gotta get smart fast AND keep informed. You do, too! Scams evolve. Scammers grow sophisticated. Seniors on stage will have you cheering as the spotlight shines on fraud and how to stop it.

Doors will open at 1 p.m. for guests with reservations. Walk-ins will be seated in any open seats at 1:45 p.m.

SAGES Theater Inc. is a locally based, not for profit organization that presents "Plays with Purpose" highlighting a positive image of aging and featuring senior actors in meaningful leading roles.

An independent producer/presenter has rented the theater for this performance; it is not produced by New Tampa Performing Arts Center.
